17th-Century Holy Savior Monastery in Azerbaijani-Held Artsakh Damaged Amid Systematic Destruction of Armenian Cultural Heritage
Experts and officials describe this as part of a deliberate, long-term Azerbaijani policy aimed at erasing Armenian heritage, including destruction of monasteries, khachkars, inscriptions, and historical landscapes.
Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev renewed demands for the return of Azerbaijanis displaced from Armenia and the restoration of their “cultural heritage,” framing it as essential for peace.
