Global ARM President: Vance Visit Signals Historic Shift Toward Armenia

Global ARM President Timothy Jemal was interviewed by David Pollack of One America News on Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Armenia.

Jemal noted that he had publicly argued as early as three years ago that the United States should pivot toward Armenia, emphasizing that the country presents a unique strategic opportunity. According to him, Armenia is actively seeking to emerge from Russia’s geopolitical shadow, while public sentiment toward the United States remains strong among Armenians. He highlighted that Armenia’s democratic aspirations and Christian heritage closely align with core American values, creating a rare foundation for a genuine strategic partnership.

Jemal said lasting peace requires the release of at least 19 Armenian political hostages held by Azerbaijan and an end to its occupation, warning that without these steps, any peace deal would not be sustainable.

“Armenia is located at the crossroads of Central Asia and Europe. You couldn’t have a more strategic location. To the Trump administration’s credit, they recognised early on that Armenia is a place where we (U.S.) need to have a deeper relationship and move forward strategically both for Armenia’s interest for peace and for the U.S. economy,” Jemal said, describing the Vance trip as a historic step toward deepening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
