Newport Beach, Calif. — Dr. Vahe Meghrouni has contributed $100,000 each to Global ARM and the Global ARM Foundation to support lobbying and educational efforts that strengthen U.S.–Armenia ties, combat hate and aggression against Armenians, and advance justice for victims of Azerbaijan’s aggression.

“We are deeply grateful to Dr. Meghrouni for his generous support. His contribution is vital to sustaining Global ARM’s strong, bipartisan advocacy in Washington,” said Timothy Jemal, President of Global ARM. “Since our founding in 2022, we have built a quiet but meaningful presence, earning respect and access across both parties in Congress and the Executive Branch. Global ARM’s unique model of using professional lobbyists with strong ties to Republicans and Democrats has propelled our work, making us the most effective pro-Armenian voice in Washington.”

Dr. Meghrouni and his wife, Dr. Armine Meghrouni (now deceased), donated $1.5 million in 2015 to establish the Meghrouni Family Presidential Chair in Armenian Studies at the University of California, Irvine, and have continued to support UCI’s Armenian language program, as well as providing funding for a lecture program open to the public. The Meghrounis have also made substantial contributions to Armenian schools and church organizations in the U.S. and abroad, with a focus on education.

“This is a critical time in U.S.-Armenia relations, and I have seen the impact Global ARM is making. The influence of the United States on the future of Armenia continues to grow, and we need to expand the reach of this powerful pro-Armenian voice in Washington, D.C.,” said Dr. Meghrouni. “I encourage others to support the work of Global ARM because decisions are being made that will impact the Armenian homeland forever.”

Global ARM maintains a significant presence and impact in Washington. Global ARM has successfully lobbied for increased levels of U.S.-Armenia economic and military ties. Global ARM has been the driving force behind the introduction of the landmark PEACE Act, which would sanction Azerbaijani leaders and SOCAR for committing aggression against Armenia. The organization is relentlessly pursuing the release of Armenian hostages and de-occupation of Armenia in high-level meetings with the Trump Administration.

Just this week, Global ARM spearheaded the introduction of the ARMENIA Security Partnership Act, H.R. 6840, sponsored by Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL), that would require the Pentagon to strengthen U.S. security assistance to Armenia if Azerbaijan continues hostilities toward Armenia. H.R. 6840 requires that the Executive Branch certify annually whether the Government of Azerbaijan has taken meaningful steps to resolve hostilities against Armenia.

Under H.R. 6840, if Azerbaijan continues hostilities toward Armenia, the Pentagon will be required to recommend immediate steps to increase security cooperation with Armenia, and the President will be prohibited from waiving sanctions against Azerbaijan under Section 907 of the Freedom Support Act.

In September 2024, Global ARM ensured that Armenian victims of Azerbaijani aggression were represented by the Center for Truth and Justice at a Congressional Hearing on the ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh. Global ARM offers the best way for the Diaspora to support the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity as a meaningful step to deepen U.S.-Armenian cooperation, deter more Azerbaijani aggression, and combat the ongoing threats by Ilham Aliyev to occupy more territory in Southern Armenia.

“We are more certain than ever that this is a unique time in the history of U.S.-Armenia relations, and we have a tremendous opportunity to work with the White House and Congress to forge a lasting strategic relationship,” added Jemal.
